UI : DIY Pom Pom Bears

Steps to make your very own pom pom bears!!

1) coil a strand of yarn around 2 thin sticks, (eg: pencils)

For the head, number of coils= 50

For the body, number of coils= 30

For the ears, number of coils= 15

2) cut a 15cm strand of yarn and place it in between the two sticks.

3) use the strand of yarn from step 2 to tie the coiled yarn tightly.

4) Ensure that the yarn coiled onto the sticks are tied tightly together by the above strand of yarn (refer to step 3)

5) Remove the coiled yarn from the sticks.

6) use a pair of scissors to go through the coiled yarn and cut the edges, such that the yarn circulating the strand of yarn (step 2&3) are of same lengths.

7) If the ball of yarn has longer strands of yarn sticking out, cut the stray strands of yarn.

8) Once the ball of yarn is fluffy and evenly trimmed, use super glue to stick the head, body, ears and/or even limbs (if you have enough yarn to make limbs) together.

9) use decorative materials to decorate the bear !! Be creative !

eg: goggly eyes, stickers, ribbons, buttons

10) use a 12-17cm yellow ribbon to tie it around the bear's neck. This serves as its "girl guides scarf".

11) Cut a small square piece of yellow felt and glue it onto the middle of the scarf.

12) If you are planning to give this away to someone, you can write initials/ names/notes/draw/paste stickers on the yellow felt to make this pom pom bear more personalized !!
